The details for
the project.

When a moss wall is part of a project, you need more than a photograph. This is what we send on the first enquiry, with no obligation and at no charge.

The details for the project.

For architects

How we
work together.

We work on the drawings you give us and stay on the job until handover.

01

Drawings

You send a plan, a section or a photograph with measurements. Whatever you have at that stage of the project is enough.

02

Proposal

We draw the solution on your own plan, with dimensions and positions, in a format you can drop into your set.

03

Samples

A box with samples of every kind of moss and the colours goes to the meeting with the investor. The colour of moss is not judged on a screen.

04

Programme

We fit fabrication and installation into the site programme. The panel arrives finished, so installation does not stop the other trades.

For architects

Technical data
for the specification.

These are the figures from the technical sheet, as the maker gives them.

01

Weight

Roughly 7 to 8 kg/m² for the preserved moss itself, depending on the kind. The final weight of a panel depends on the moss chosen and on the materials the panel is built from.

02

Substrate and build-up

The panel is built on an XPS substrate 2 cm thick, finished in preserved moss.

03

Panel dimensions

Adapted to the actual project. Larger walls are made up of several panels, to suit the dimensions of the project and the client, so there is no fixed maximum. We confirm the dimensions for your wall in the offer, working on your own drawing.

04

Fixing

How it is fixed depends on the existing substrate and on the size of the panel. The fixing system is set to suit conditions on site, and a sub-frame is provided where one is needed. Whether the panel can be taken down later depends on the fixing system chosen.

05

Reaction to fire

The preserved moss itself is classified B-s2,d0 to EN 13501-1:2018. The classification covers the moss, not the finished panel.

06

Conditions in the room

Interior spaces with ordinary temperature and relative humidity. The moss should be kept out of direct sunlight and out of the direct airflow from air conditioning.

07

Warranty

2 years on the quality of the moss, under the recommended conditions and with no physical damage. It does not cover damage from mishandling, from mechanical impact or from unsuitable conditions in the room.

08

Maintenance

The wall is not watered, misted or trimmed. Dust comes off now and then with a soft brush or a gentle stream of cool air, and for the first 2 years after installation we come by ourselves to see how it is holding.

The figures come from the maker and describe the standard build-up. For an actual wall we confirm them in the offer, together with the dimensions and the way it is fixed.

Care and questions

What designers
ask us.

01

How long does it last?

From 7 to 10 years, kept properly. Like any natural material it depends on the room it lives in: away from direct sun and away from the draught of an air conditioner.

02

Is there a warranty?

We give 2 years of warranty on the quality of the moss itself. It does not cover physical damage. On top of that, we service the installation for 2 years after it goes up.

03

Is it right for every space?

For offices, homes, restaurants and hotels. We avoid places with direct sun and high temperatures, because the colour fades faster there, and places where an air conditioner blows straight at the wall.

04

How is it installed?

Our team installs it. The panel arrives finished from the workshop, on a base cut to size, so on site it is only mounted. The wall is done the same day.

05

Can any logo be made in moss?

Yes. Heavier faces are cut directly, and thin, precise motifs are built over a 3D mould filled with moss. The artwork is prepared by our designer on our own CNC machine.

06

What does it cost?

The price depends on what the client asks for. No two jobs are the same, because it depends on the dimensions and on which kinds of moss are mixed. Every enquiry gets a written offer, to your measurements and the kinds you choose.
